¶¶ Saskatchewan residents living with diabetes on the public Saskatchewan Drug plan can access provincial reimbursement of the FreeStyle Libre 2 system if they are between the ages of 18-25 or 65+ and are being treated with insulin. Pediatric patients with diabetes who are under 18 years old can also access the FreeStyle Libre 2 if they are either approved for the Saskatchewan Insulin Pump Program; or on both basal and bolus insulin; or have hyperinsulinism requiring frequent blood glucose monitoring and meet the eligibility criteria. †††† Alberta residents living with diabetes on Alberta-government sponsored health benfits plans can access provincial reimbursement of the FreeStyle Libre 2 system if they are 18 or older and are being treated with either insulin pump therapy, both basal and bolus insulin or using a premixed insulin. People with diabetes under the age of 18 will also have access if they use any type of insulin.
