Yes! The FreeStyle Libre 2 system is reimbursed under the Northwest Territories Healthcare Plan as “Limited Use” benefit. “Limited Use” means that you have to meet certain criteria to be eligible for coverage.

Am I eligible for coverage?

You may be eligible for coverage if you have a valid prescription for the FreeStyle Libre 2 system AND you:

  • Are 19 years of age or younger and are on intensive insulin therapy (i.e., you administer short-acting insulin three or more times per day); or
  • You have type 1 diabetes
